The 45th Annual Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade

The 2007 St. Patrick's Day Parade theme is "Irish Roots and Cowboy Boots", honoring the many Irish pioneers and miners who helped settle Denver and surrounding area. Known as the biggest St. Patrick's Day parade west of the Mississippi, this is an event everyone can enjoy. If you can't see it in person, you can watch the parade on Denver's WB2 (Channel 2).

When: Saturday, March 17, 2007 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Parade starts at 27th and Blake Streets in lower downtown Denver - south on Blake Street to 17th Street; turn west to Union Station; turn north on Wynkoop; and end behind Coors Field

Who: Lots of floats, high school marching bands, pipe bands, Irish step dancers, horses and stagecoaches, clowns, and El Jebel Shriners

St. Patrick's Day Serpent Festival

In honor of St. Patrick driving all the snakes out of Ireland, the Denver Zoo is showcasing several species of snakes. Snakes are an often-misunderstood species, so this is your chance to learn more about them in a safe and fun environment. Kids can make their own snake souvenir to take home while everyone enjoys Irish musical entertainment.

When: Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18, 2007

Where: The Denver Zoo

Time: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Cost: Adults are $9.00; seniors 65+ $7.00; kids 3-11 are $5.00; under 2 get in free

Wow Melody sounds like they do it up big there in Denver. Wish I could be there for the fun. I don't care for all snakes but Hog Snakes are cool and fun pets.
