I make certificates for my kids all the time. Since I homeschool my kids, I have to make the certificates that they get. I found that it is very easy to create a certificate in Microsoft Word. In this tutorial I will show you how to create a certificate in Microsoft Word. There are many different ways to create a certificate. I will show you how to do the basics and then you can play around with it and create your own.The first thing that you will need to do is open Microsoft Word and create a new document. Make sure that you have your document on Print Layout. If you are not sure what this is, click View > Print Layout. This will give you the view of a page.
Next you will insert a border of your choice. Click Format > Borders and Shading. A dialog box will pop up with your choices of borders. You will see three tabs at the top of the box, click on the Page Borders tab. Under the Settings section click Box. You can select the type of border that you want under Style. You can use a decorated art border instead of lines if you want too. To use an art border, drop the art box down at the bottom of the box. Select the border that you want to use. If you select an art border you will also need to select the width of the border. If you select a line border you can change the color of that border by dropping the color box down. Once you have the border that you want to use, click the OK button on the box.
Now you can type what you want in the certificate. You can change the font, color, and size to fancy it up. Next, you can add a graphic to the certificate. You can insert a picture, clipart, or shapes. Click Insert > Picture > and choose which one you want to use. You can also use a graphic from the internet on your certificate. To do this you will need to save the graphic to your computer. Then click Insert > Picture > From File. Locate the graphic on your computer and click the Insert button.
That's how easy it is to create a certificate in Microsoft Word. These certificates are great for homeschool, churches, and clubs or groups. You can create many different types of certificates. There are many borders to choose from and you can find many graphics on the internet to use.
