Prom Dress No-no's

Prom season is right around the corner. This is the time when girls go crazy over what dress to wear, how to do their hair, and who will take them to the dance. To a teenage girl there is nothing quite like Prom. One of the most important elements, if not the most important element of Prom is the dress. When dress shopping it is easy to get carried away by pretty fabrics and spaghetti straps. However, there are a few prom dress no-no's to keep in mind before making your very important purchase.

Trendy
Classic prom dress styles are usually much more beautiful and elegant than trendy styles. If you look back at your prom picture and wince in 20 years, it will be because you chose a trendy style dress that went out of fashion. Stick with A-frame, empire waste type dresses for the most classic prom look.

Discomfort
Comfort should be one of your biggest concerns when choosing a prom dress. Yes, there may be a dress that makes you look amazing, but you certainly won't feel amazing if it is uncomfortable. Feeling comfortable and confident completes your prom look.

Too Tight
Some girls wear prom dresses that are much too tight for them. Remember, before the Prom, most couples go out for dinner. It can be extremely uncomfortable to sit in a dress that is too tight. Also, a dress that is too tight around the waste may make you feel self-conscious after a meal. Everyone's stomach expands a little after eating. More than likely, you will not want to show off that expanded belly.

Too Revealing
Prom is an event for teenagers. Do yourself, and everyone else a favor by dressing as a teen should. Don't wear a dress that is too revealing. Dresses that show too much cleavage or too much leg may cause problems. Don't be surprised if you wear a revealing dress if you are the topic of conversation among friends. Prom is not the time to show off your body, it is a time to dress up, look beautiful, and have a good time with your high school friends.
