You've Been Targeted for Termination!

October 26, 1984 would be a day the United States would never forget, for the Terminator was unleashed upon it's grounds to reap death and destruction across it's land (the movie was released around the world in the months and years to come). If you don't know about "The Terminator" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (now Governor of California) as the infamous cyborg assassin determined without deterrence to kill Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor), only to be fearlessly protected by Micheal Biehn (Kyle Reese), well wake up and hold on because you're about to get a crash course in "The Terminator."

From the mind of James Cameron (director), and a few others who helped him bring it to life, "The Terminator" is a nightmare inducing (I still have nightmares caused from this film, but I love 'em) science fiction action story about a robot who is sent back from the future by other machines to kill a woman who is the mother of the man who will bring them down many years to come. Of course she needs someone to protect her, so the leader of the future human resistance - her son - sends back one of his soldiers to keep her alive until the day of reckoning comes to fruition. Oh, just let me mention now that....Ahhh, I won't ruin it for "Terminator" virgins. Confused? Don't be. It's fiction remember, so anything can happen.

Set in Los Angeles in 1984 (a lot was going on in LA at that time so who knows maybe this really happened), this movies is pure action. If there are moments of calm it's only to catch your breath because you can't have 100 plus minutes of killing and destruction, can you? That said, it isn't short on story. From what I mentioned about you could imply that the plot is a bit more complicated than your typical action movie, but don't get bogged down by all that - it's killed or be killed. Pure fight for survival stuff. There are twists and turns, but by in large the driver of the movie is the Terminator's programmed mission to terminate the existence of Sarah Connor thus changing the future.
