Easter Bunny Cupcakes: A Fun Easter Cooking Craft
To Make Easter Bunny Cupcakes You Will Need:
1 Box of your favorite cake mix
Pink or White Icing
Cup Cake wrappers
Graham crackers
Paring knife
Tube Icing (Red, White, Black)
Airhead Candy (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow)
Let the kids help you with this fun project. They will have a blast turning these simple cupcakes into a Easter Bunny inspired treat.
Follow the direction on your cake mix as normal. Bake them in a cupcake tin according to the package directions. I recommend using the little paper cupcake holders, but that is optional.
Once the cupcakes have cooled apply the pink or white icing.
Now, take your graham crackers and break them in half and then half again.
Now, microwave one of those ¼ rectangular sized pieces for about 10 - 20 seconds.
Now, while the graham cracker is soft cut this down into a long bunny ear shape with your knife.
Let cool and spread on the pink or white icing covering the ears completely. You can painting the middle of the ears pink if you used white as the base color. Paint them in with red icing if you are making a pink bunny. Use gel writing icing.
Insert 2 graham cracker ears in the back of the cup cake. This will be the Easter Bunny head. I like to insert mine about 1/3 of the way into the cupcake. You could go as far as ½ of the way in though.
Have the kids open up a bunch of Airhead candy. Use clean scissors to cut out strips of the taffy like candy. These can be placed on as the whiskers.
You can also cut out a red nose and even blue eyes.
Use what icing to pipe on two eyes on the Easter Bunny face. To black dots of icing will work for the pupils or some of the blue taffy cut into circles.
Now that was a simple and easy Easter Bunny cupcake!
You can make a turkey inspired Easter Bunny cake for a larger group of family.
Follow the instructions for the Easter Bunny cupcakes as before.
