It is the winter blah season. Do you know what is the number one thing that people do during this time? No, it isn't starting a new diet. That is just something we say we want to do. The number one thing that people do during this time of year is break up. Break up? But why?

There are many reasons as to why couples break up. As to why so many break up during the winter months is an easy question to answer. It is basically because of the let down of all the holidays. We all have these illusions of what Christmas and New Year's should be like for us. Many of these illusions will include our lovers. When they don't meet up to our expectations, we don't feel that they fulfill us. But many times they can't live up to our expectations because they are too high. We watch too many sappy movies. We listen to love songs and we get illusions in our heads. Real people and real relationships can not always live up to the illusions we build.

What are other reasons that people want to break up with their partners? One of the top reasons is loss of passion. What happens to this passion? Life takes over, we all get busy and slowly as some relationships progresses, passion takes a back burner in our lives.

Another popular reason as to why people break up is that they start feeling like they are in a rut. They find that they are doing the same thing with their partner on most days. They may even find that their love life is in a rut.

Not having enough shared views or even not having enough shared views for the future can also eventually take a toll on a relationship. Sure in the beginning being opposite may have an unique attraction. It may be fun to argue views. But as time goes on, this, too can become old and tiresome. When it comes to arguments for the future, this can cause major conflict. How can you plan a life with someone when you don't have the same views, the same hopes or dreams? If one wants children and the other one doesn't, how can a relationship survive the test of time?

Takeaways
  • What is one popular reason people break up? Lack of passion.
  • Another popular reason people break up is because they find their realtionship is in a rut.
  • If your parnter isn't spending as much time with you, watch out!
