Howard K. Stern is Going to Sell the Rights to Air Anna Nicole Smith's Funeral

Stern has been accused by Anna Nicole Smith's mother of turning her daughter's death into a large payday. Virgie Arthur claims that Stern has been using her daughter's death to create huge profits for himself. She used an example of a story that has circulated about her funeral being aired on television. Popular media related show "ET" is supposedly going to pay Stern around a million dollars to air the funeral of Anna Nicole Smith. The two continue to accuse each other and bicker back and forth.

Arthur was getting angry at Stern constantly accusing her of making a profit off her own daughter's death. Arthur kept arguing with Stern, telling him that she would never do such a thing and that he was actually the one trying to make a profit from her death. She accused him of using her daughter to get media attention and now using her death to earn some extra money. Arthur has been quoted on numerous occasions outside of court blaming Stern for only trying to get Smith's money.

As she angrily deflected question about getting paid by a paparazzi agency, she revealed how Stern planned to make money off her daughter's death. Tmz.com was able to obtain a quote from Arthur while she was on the stand. Arthur charged, "The only one who's ever made any money off my daughter is that man right there," pointing to Stern. She added, "I heard that "ET" is buying her death funeral ... for a million bucks." Stern did not offer a reply to this charge made by Arthur.

The arguing was beginning to get out of hand. This caused the judge to interrupt the pair several times. Judge Larry Seidlin made the pair stop their bickering and flying accusations. He did this in order to get the parties back on the issue at hand. They have been in court trying to figure out what to do with Anna's body. The body continues to slowly deteriorate and needs a place to be buried as soon as possible. Most people believe a decision will be made later this week on the issue.
