It's that time of the month again and you're in agony, right ladies? Mother nature has cursed women with painful cramps, bloating, mood swings and so much more once a month. Not exactly fair, in my opinion, but what choice do we have? Since we have to cope with this ailment until menopause, here are some tips and a guide to help you prevent a week of suffering.

The Pill


The great thing about this statement is you already know what pill I'm talking about. Yes, girls, birth control. This little pill has saved my life and it will help you too! I got on birth control even before I began engaging in intercourse because my periods were so painful. I had to miss school, work, and anything else I had planned. My pain was so bad, I couldn't sleep. It didn't matter if I took Midol, Tylenol, or anything else in the world, the pain wouldn't go away. After getting on birth control, however, my pain was slim to none. I still have to take Midol or Pamprin...any of those pain relievers for that time of the month, but birth control more than took the edge off. Many women take birth control for this same reason and I highly recommend it.

Mood swings are fun, aren't they? Crying for no reason really makes me feel stable! Joking aside, this is natures way of telling you that your period is coming. This is actually a good thing because it can help you prepare.

Taking an anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen 24 hours before your period will help reduce your cramps. This is one way to reduce the pain.
