George Clooney was born May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky. During his high school years, George Clooney suffered from Bell's palsy. During the filming of Syriana in 2005, he fell out of chair and injured himself. Doctor's did not believe George Clooney's claim until he started leaking spinal fluid from his nose. Because of the accident George Clooney lives in chronic pain with plastic bolts supporting his spine.

Another interesting piece of information about George Clooney is that he is the only man that has been given the "Sexiest Man Alive" award not once but twice. The award was given by "People Magazine" in 1997 and then again in 2006.

During his high school years, George Clooney had hoped to play football. His school only offered basketball and baseball. He was very involved in both of these sports. In 1977, George Clooney tried out for the baseball team, Cincinnati Reds but did not make the team. After working odd jobs such as drawing caricatures and selling lemonade at the Labor Day festival in Augusta, George Clooney headed for Los Angeles in 1986. Little did he know that later in life he would be winning Academy Awards.

Several months of the year, George Clooney lives in his Italian villa in Laglio at Lake Como, Italy. The majority of his time is spent directing films. In 2005, he was the director of "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and in 2005, "Good Night and Good Luck." He was the screen writer for "Good Night and Good Luck." George Clooney was the executive producer for "Ocean's Thirteen".

This may seem silly, but I never realized that George Clooney was Irish. Go figure. Good article. And I agree with Stephen - I loved "From Dusk Til Dawn"! One of my favorite vampire flicks!

I fell in love with him from his part in "Oh Brother Where Art Thou." Since he's Irish American, I thought it would be fun to do a piece on him.
