In the city centre of Dublin you will find some of Dublin's most famous and historic parks and gardens. The one that just about every tourist and all locals know of is St. Stephen's Green, known locally as Stephen's Green. St. Stephen's Green is a Victorian style park open to the public at no charge. It is perhaps the most well known Victorian park in Ireland. This beautiful Dublin park and garden is always busy with people and offers a great escape from the city for weary office workers, shoppers and travellers. In the warm weather the lawns will be covered with people enjoying lunch and relaxing in the sunshine. St. Stephen's Green is a total of twenty two acres. Inside the tree lined perimeter you will find shady walks past a duck pond, vibrant flowers and pristine lawns. St. Stephen's Green is very easy to find. It is located at the top of Grafton Street: Dublin's main pedestrian shopping area. The park and gardens are open every day during daylight hours. Facilities include a playground and a garden for the visually impaired.

Merrion Square
This is the largest and most beautiful Georgian square in Dublin. It is surrounded by Georgian houses and the National Gallery of Ireland. One of the most famous houses the borders Merrion Square is Oscar Wilde's house. On the other houses the border Merrion Square you will find plaques informing you of some about these magnificent houses' early residents. There is also a nice statue of Oscar Wilde relaxing on a rock set amongst a variety of shrubbery and flower beds.
