A few months later, Michael Johns started a band and before American Idol, he would have several indie bands including the Rising signed by Madonna's Maverick label. Nothing against the second sexiest singing Australian, Hugh Jackman, but American Idol alum Michael Johns gives Rock 'n Roll Heaven a whole new meaning.

Now, according to Michael Johns' official fan site, his new single Heart On My Sleeve will finally release on March 31 and the Sony album Hold Back My Heart will release on June 2. Michael Johns describes the CD as a Rock Soul sound where Otis Redding meets Joe Cocker with a splash of Van Morrison. Michael Johns sings the Bee Gees classic To Love Somebody on the new CD.

According to Upper Deck Entertainment, you will also be able to get your Michael Johns trading card on April 21 along with 137 other Idol Trading Cards by Upper Deck Entertainment. All of America was stunned when Michael Johns got booted from American Idol Season 7, but that is not stopping Michael Johns from soon becoming the most popular American Idol Alum ever! Michael Johns will show his heart on his sleeve in other ways too. Johns will be performing along with Bon Jovi and others for the Celebrity Fight Night in honor of Muhammad Ali on March 28, 2009.
