In this tutorial I will show you how to do more of the basic things in Microsoft Word. This is part 4. There are many, many things that you can do in Microsoft Word. In this tutorial I will show you how to do the following.Do a Word Count
Make your Text Bold, Italic, and Underlined
Print your Document
Insert the Date into your Document
Insert a Table
Insert a Horizontal Line
Word Count in Microsoft Word
Did you know that you can find out how many words you have typed in your document? This is called a word count. Not only can you find out how many words you have typed, but you can also find out how many characters and pages. Go to the top of your window and click Tools > Word Count. That will bring up a little box that will tell you how many words you have typed and more. Click the Close button when you are done.
Make your Text Bold, Italic, and Underlined
This is very simple to do. Highlight the text that you want to change. There will be three buttons at the top of your Microsoft Word program, B, I, and U. Click the "B" to make your text bold. Click the "I" to make your text italic, and click the "U" to underline the text.
Printing your Document
There are a few ways to print a document. 1.) Click File > Print at the top of your window. Click OK on the dialog box that pops up. 2.) Press CTRL + P on your keyboard to print your document. Click OK on the dialog box that pops up. 3.) Click the printer icon at the top of your window. Click OK on the dialog box that pops up.
Inserting the Date into your Document
You can insert the date into your document quickly and easily by clicking Insert > Date and Time. A box will pop up and you will choose the format that you want to use. Then click the OK button.
Inserting a Table into your Document
Tables are used for all kinds of things. To insert a table into your document click Table > Insert > Table. Enter the number of columns and rows that you want. Then click the OK button.
