Unless you live in Ohio, most people who travel here think there isn't anything to do but that is the furthest thing from the truth. Ohio has some great winter getaways that many people don't even know about. From amusement parks to restaurants there are many activities that will satisfy the average traveler. Ohio offers winter travelers dining, shopping, and entertainment of all sorts. Whether you are looking to slip and slide at the water park or pick up some handmade gifts, Ohio is the place!

Unless you have been living under a rock most of your life, Ohio has one of the best amusement parks in the world called Cedar Point. Cedar Point has been named the World's Greatest Amusement Park a numerous times. Even though it's too cold to wear a bathing suit in Ohio in the dead of winter you will find Cedar Points has come to the traveler's rescue. Now open at Cedar Point is the newest attraction, Castaway Bay. What is Castaway Bay you may ask? It's a 38,000 square foot indoor water park with 68 rides and a roller coaster that shoots you up a hill of water.

Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio on the south shore of Lake Erie. Cedar Point Amusement Park is exit 118 off of Interstate 80 and exit 110 off of US 250, just follow the signs. General admission to Cedar Point costs $39.95 plus taxes. Several AAA travel agents offer discounted tickets to Cedar Point Amusement Park. Food and drinks are not allowed to be brought into the amusement park but you can buy everything you need inside. It doesn't stop there though. A 6,000 square foot arcade is also inside to keep the kids busy while you use many of the other services. A two day stay is absolutely necessary if you want to ride all the rides and lodging is available onsite and in Sandusky.
