Children want to learn. They have a strong desire to classify things and make connections between related information. Even with toys, I have observed that children play much better when their toys are organized as opposed to toy box chaos where every thing is messy and mixed together. Organization helps foster better attentiveness in play and helps with focused learning. Play and learning go hand in hand with children. It's so important during the preschool years to make learning fun for your child and inspire them to gain more knowledge in any topic they find interesting.
Preschool learning bags are a great way to encourage education in a positive light and help with organizing your child's many interests - not to mention their rooms!
What should the bag look like?
The bag itself can be many things. It can be a tote bag with handles, a simple drawstring sack, a zippered book bag and even mesh bags work really well because you can preview the contents inside. It's important that the bags be child-friendly, easily accessible and be labeled according to it's contents. A printed label or hangtag is great as well as bags that speak for themselves such as totes made with related fabric.
For example, a great theme for a preschool learning bag is dinosaurs and making a tote from dinosaur printed fabric would be perfect! No need to print a label for that one as it's obvious what goodies wait inside for your little learner.
What are some different themes to use?
There are countless themes and ideas you can use to make preschool learning bags. The most important for your child are topics they are most interested in and then add subjects they need to start learning. These learning bags should be super fun for your child so incorporate their favorite characters, dreams and interests.
If your child is always pretending to be a deep-sea diver and is fascinated with sharks and under water creatures, then you must create him a deep-sea themed learning bag!
