The Courage to Ask for Money in Exchange for Your Writings.
I couldn't believe the courage of this poet!!!! This poet took his collection of poems gathered them together, stapled the left margin with 3 staples; One of the top, another for the middle, and the last for the bottom! The paper was cheap, the photo on the cover of the book of poetry was a photo everybody who has Microsoft Word has seen in the pictures options. His poems were all printed in black, there wasn't any special formatting.......... there was no color any where.... AND PEOPLE WERE GIVING HIM $10 FOR HIS WORK!!!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. I WAS STUNNED.I said if he can do it, then I can do it.. I went home, typed out a word God had given me; I titled it "MEAT TO EAT." I started telling people I had just completed a booklet of 5 pages... that's right 5 pages, and I asked for donation of $3-$5! I did exactly what he did.
I told friends, and associates at different organizations. I got some pretty paper from target, stapled the three ends- the same places you will put a hole puncher. I stapled one at the top, the other in the middle, and the last at the bottom. I carried one copy with me at all times, and with fear and trembling in my voice I asked people who I was acquainted with if they liked to make a $3-$5 donation to my booklet.
I sold 25 copies and 2 "No's" practically everybody I asked bought a copy. I hope this encourages you.
