If you have read the different reviews that I have written about facial cleansers, you already know that I have combination skin. Unfortunately, my skin seems to get used to cleansers, thus making the cleanser ineffective. Therefore, I have to change cleansers every three months or so. The latest cleanser that I am using is the Mary Kay Deep Cleanser Formula 3, which is supposed to give your skin a thorough yet gentle cleansing. Truthfully, I have found this to be true. However, there are still plenty of issues that I have with this cleanser.
The first thing that you notice - or, rather, don't notice - is the scent of this cleanser. There isn't one. I like using cleansers that smell like their natural ingredients, such as citrus or eucalyptus. There really isn't any scent with this cleanser. At least we know that Mary Kay doesn't artificially perfume this product.
This product is meant for oily skin, and with good reason. After just a week using it, my face has become very dry. You simply must use a moisturizer when using this product. If not, your skin will become dry and itchy. While the packaging touts "safe for sensitive skin," I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that has sensitive skin.
Even though this cleanser dried out my skin, I still have problems with blemishes. I'm 30 years old, and I would love to have clear skin. This just isn't the product to do that-- even with the rest of the Formula 3 line.
The best part about this cleanser is the foaming action. Add just a little water, and the product foams every well and rinses away without any problems. I have never had any problems with leftover residue from this cleanser.
At $12, I wouldn't waste my money on the Mary Kay Deep Cleanser Formula 3 again. I have used it in the past, and didn't really like it. I thought I might have changed my mind, but I was wrong. It's an average facial cleanser at an exorbitant price.
