If you are planning your wedding this year, consider doing it all yourself. Some people pay a professional, some people have family or friends to plan everything and others try to do it themselves. All of these ways are fine, but if you are going to do it yourself, here are some tips to make your wedding more successful. Always remember that this is your wedding. You may have several different opinions and ideas coming at you, but you need to do what you want to do. This day is truly special and you will always remember it. Doing it yourself is not very complicated as long as you plan it first.

Setting the Date

The date that you plan to marry the person of your dreams is one of the most important dates you will ever have to make. It also looks great on your invitations. To decide your date, you need to consider what season you would like to be married in. Do you want a spring, summer, fall or winter wedding? After you decide the month, you need to decide the day of the week that works best for you. Most commonly, couples usually choose to get married on Saturdays or Sundays. Next, you need to decide the time. The time you choose is very important. If you plan it early in the day, you may not have as much time to get ready. If you make it too late, you may find your self exhausted by the time you start your honeymoon.

Location

This is the next important decision. There are many things to consider such as do you want your wedding indoors or outdoors? If you choose to have your wedding outdoors, make sure you are prepared for weather conditions and choose and reserve an indoor location. Once you have decided where you will get married, make arrangements to go see it. Take a camera so that you will have the pictures to refer back to later. Before you travel to see the place, make yourself a list of details that you need to decide on such as flowers that you want, colors that you want to decorate with, seating decorations and the alter. If your wedding is indoors or outdoors, you need to plan ever detail. You may want to ask two close friends or relatives to help you make your final decision.
