Carnival is one of the most popular cruise lines for people who want to cruise without spending a small fortune. Carnival Cruise Lines designates their fleet of cruise ships as, "The Fun Ships." Carnival attracts all types of guests, from families with children to groups of college Spring Breakers.

It's Not the Love Boat

Though Carnival's Fantasy cruise can be a romantic adventure, the cruise is more about "fun for all" than a couple's romance cruise. There were some honeymooners on the cruise, but the number of singles, families, and couples outnumbered the newly wedded. Carnival Fantasy is a cruise for those who want to have some fun. Carnival Fantasy is a good choice for an affordable four night vacation.

Though there are many larger mega cruise ships at the ports, the Carnival Fantasy still seemed large, once onboard. The busiest times on the ship were at dinner seatings. Commercialism played a large part during the cruise on Carnival Fantasy, as it does on many other cruise ships. Roaming photographers are ready to snap your picture at every turn, snapping photos before dinner, after shore excursions, and at the formal dinner. Though the pictures may make nice souveniers, they will cost anywhere from about $10-30, depending on the size and photo package.

Cruise Activities

There are plenty of activities on the Carnival Fantasy cruise. Each morning a memo gets slipped under each cabin door with a schedule of theevents, port times, and shows for that day. With so many activities to choose from it would be impossible to participate in everything. The cruise version of "The Newlywed Game" and comedy shows are popular activities to attend on the Carnival Fantasy. Both were entertaining. A casino is open on the Carnival Fantasy, once the ship enters international waters, though The slot machines seem rather tight.

Takeaways

I've been on the Carnival Fantasy ship- loved it. But you're right, those extra charges can add up really quickly.
