Twenty Ways to Make Your Child Feel Loved
1. The first way to make your child feel loved is to tell her that you love her.
Okay, this seems obvious but there are many people who don't tell their children that they love them. Don't assume children know you love them. Make sure they know. Tell them you love them at least daily.
2. The second way to make your child feel loved is to hug her.
Giving your child a hug shows you care without words. Hug your child to celebrate accomplishments. Hug your child when she is sad. Hug your child to show encouragement. Don't be worried that your child will be embarrassed.
3. The third way to make your child feel loved is to kiss her.
A quick kiss on the cheek at bedtime doesn't take much effort. When you give our child a kiss, you are telling her that she is special.
4. The fourth way to make your child feel loved is to listen to her.
Listen to what your child has to say. I know that life can get hectic but when your child takes time to talk to you listen. If your child knows you are always willing to listen she will be more likely to come to you when she needs to talk.
5. The fifth way to make your child feel loved is to smile when you are around her.
Children need to see their parents smile. They need to see their parents happy. Smile around your children, especially when you are going through a rough time.
6. The sixth way to make your child feel loved is to talk to her.
Talk to your child. Let your child get to know you. Tell your child about your life. Tell your child your memories of childhood. Talking with children makes them feel important and loved.
7. The seventh way to make your child feel loved is to laugh with her.
Laughter is powerful. Laugh with your child. Laugh at your child's jokes. Do not laugh at your child's mistakes.
8. The eighth way to make your child feel loved is to read to her.
Reading to your children helps them to learn a love of reading and lets them know you love them. Taking time out of your day to read with your child is an easy way to show you love her.
