Willie Aames Falls on Hard Times
Willie Aames Files for Bankruptcy with House in Foreclosure
Actor Willie Aames has fallen on hard times. According to People, Aames, who starred in Eight is Enough and Charles in Charge, filed for bankruptcy last year and his house is in foreclosure. Indeed, Willie Aames is yet another victim of the ravaged economy. So on Thursday, Willie Aames did what many people do when they are in a pinch and need to raise some quick cash: he had a yard sale. Some of the items that Willie Aames had up for sale include a mounted lion's head, various antiques, artwork and a piano. According to People, a film crew was on hand to record the event for a TV documentary about Willie Aames's trials and tribulations.

Willie Aames is used to rough patches. For much of the 80s, Willie Aames battled depression and cocaine addiction. But, thankfully, Willie Aames found redemption through Christ and turned his life around. In 1991, He moved to Kansas City with his second wife.
I used to watch Willie Aames in Eight is Enough. At the time, Willie Aames was a certified heartthrob with legions of adoring young female fans. If you would have told me then that Tommy Bradford would one day have to file for bankruptcy, I would have looked at you like had just sprouted horns.
But life is funny that way.
I'm reminded of the actor Gary Coleman. At one time, Gary Coleman, who starred in the popular sitcom Diff'rent Strokes, was on top of the world. But then his acting career took a nosedive. He went from being a big time TV star to working as a security guard at the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City, California.
So, like Willie Aames, Gary Coleman went from being a star - and all the attention and riches that go along with it - to being an average Joe, so to speak. Gary Coleman has since revived his entertainment career to a certain degree, but has never risen to the heights he once enjoyed as Arnold on Diff'rent Strokes.
It will be interesting to see where life now leads Willie Aames. Perhaps a Mickey Rourke-like comeback is in store for him? One never knows.
