How to Organize Pots and Pans
How To Organize Pots and Pans: Step 1
The first thing that you need to do is take out all of your pots and pans and put them on the floor or a table so that you can get started. If you have any pots and pans in boxes or stored in other areas such as the garage or basement, get them out. You want to take the time to put the pots and pans all in one place so that you eliminate the need to run around looking later on and you also don't want to forget that you may have more pots and pans cluttering up other areas of your home.
How To Organize Pots and Pans: Step 2
Now that all of your pots and pans are in one place, it is time to go through them and figure out what you are going to keep. Get two boxes and label them garbage and donate/sell. Look at the different pots and pans and throw away anything that is badly burned, scratched, have dings and nicks or Teflon pans that are peeling.
How To Organize Pots and Pans: Step 3
After tossing all of the pans that are unusable, go through the stack and figure out what you would like to keep. Consider buying a new set of matching pots and pans if you are missing key items such as small pots to boil an egg or water and even frying pans.
If you do have whole sets that you would like to keep, put them aside and try to get rid of pots and pans that no longer have lids and pots that you rarely use. Just realize that they will go to someone else who can use them.
How To Organize Pots and Pans: Step 4
All of the pans that you are left with should be the ones that you love and would like to keep. If you have oddly shaped pots and pans, try to have one side of cupboard just for those and the other side for the normal circular pots and pans. Put the large pieces on the bottom and this usually starts with the large frying pans. Work your way up until you have the smaller pots on top.
