Many claims have been made in the past linking scriptures in the bible to banishment of interracial marriage. Being in an interracial marriage myself, I have often wondered what specific scriptures deemed my marriage unfit for God and whether or not they were literally against the marriage or just interpreted that way.

In the 40 years since interracial marriage gained legal status, non-supporters have used God and the Bible to force their disapproval of the unions on all who would listen. Until recently I have been awed by these comments and left with no supportive data for their claims. The books Deuteronomy, Acts, and Leviticus are loosely interpreted and sited by extreme Christians to ban interracial marriage in the eyes of God. On the other hand Joshua, Judges, Ezra and Nehemiah can be interpreted more literally.

In Deuteronomy 7:3, "Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son." Israel is told to avoid marriages with certain other nations. Extremists interpret these other nations to be other tribes or races. Though most followers of God's word do not stretch these lines so figuratively, it is still sited highly by interpretive Christians as God demeaning interracial marriage.

Acts 17:26 and Acts 17:27, "And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us." One blood determined as one race was made by God to dwell or live together. The mixing "blood" is deemed sacrilegious to God's wishes and plans for his creation.

great info. I do think your marriage is divinely beautiful in the eyes of God.
