A Review of the Red Robin Restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky

Red Robin is a chain restaurant, but one that is new to Louisville. I knew virtually nothing about the place, but the flashy, 50's style exterior of the building looked promising so my friend and I decided to give them a try.The first thing we noticed upon entering was a large television screen embedded in the floor in the small waiting area. Louisville is full of college basketball fans, so the TV was tuned to an important game. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. Décor inside the dining area was very eclectic. A wide assortment of posters, photos, and objects cover the walls. Red Robin is definitely aiming for a fun atmosphere. The music was loud enough to be heard, but not so loud that it impeded conversation. The booth where we sat was clean and roomy.
The menu offered us the largest variety of burgers I have ever seen. In addition to the traditional ground beef burger (topped countless ways), also on the menu were chicken burgers, turkey burgers, and even a pot roast burger. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was friendly and efficient and pointed out that all of the burgers came accompanied by all-you-can-eat French fries. The menu also offered a few entrees other than burgers, meal-sized salads, and soups. There were also a children's menu and separate drink and dessert menus.
We started out with an appetizer of warm spinach dip ($7.99). It came quickly and was served with tortilla chips. The dip was the perfect temperature and had just the right amount of cheese. For my entrée, I ordered the Blue Ribbon burger ($8.99), topped with crispy onion straws, melted Swiss cheese, and bleu cheese crumbles. My friend ordered the five-alarm burger (also $8.99), topped with salsa, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeno peppers. Both were delicious! They came cooked to a perfect medium-well and were juicy and well-seasoned.
