I found this product extremely easy to use (in comparison to files or creams). From the moment I opened the lid I was struck at the pleasant scent of the product (not at all acidy or bitter-smelling). The product itself is a container with 22 moistened pads, similar to acne-cleansing pads for the face. The pads are smooth on one side and have scrubbing bumps on the other. The directions recommend using one pad per foot. However I feel if that you have extremely calloused feet, you may need to use two per foot. It is quick-drying and leaves a barely-noticeable (but pleasant-smelling) layer of the product on your feet.
The formula contains glycolic acid, AHA, and a variety of other natural extracts and acids. The directions do not give a recommended time between usages. However, from personal experience and depending on the severity of your rough feet, I feel once every two or three days should be sufficient. I have found if I remember to use the Pedi-Peels on a regular basis, it keeps my feet from developing the callousness and flaking skin. Even after the first use I noticed smoother, softer feet. The actual experience of rubbing the pad on your feet is pleasant and your skin will feel freshened and clean. You may feel a residue on your hands, so I recommend you wash your hands after applying. However, you should not wash your feet immediately after applying, to give the acids time to absorb into the skin and exfoliate. In my experience, the formula (after dry) did not stain my slippers.
I give this product four out of five stars. I would give it five stars if Avon would make the pads a little larger and/or include more pads per container. Avon Footworks Pedi-Peel is a fast, effective, affordable, easy, and pleasant way to smooth and soften your feet. It is highly recommended and actually works (quickly!).
