The 79th Annual Academy Awards were held on Sunday, February 25, 2007. While there were many beautiful outfits worn by the women on the red carpet, there were also some disappointing or just plain ugly ones. Here are my Top 10 Worst Dressed Women of this year's Oscars.

Penelope Cruz. I'm sorry, but this dress was just terrible. The top third of it is not so bad, but it goes downhill from there. The skirt part of the dress is puffy and full, with little shredded pieces of fabric all over it. To be honest, when I saw this, it reminded me of when my cat shreds the toilet paper in the bathroom.

Nicole Kidman. Nicole, a usually very well-dressed woman, made a big mistake with this dress. The red halter-style dress has the potential to be a classic, elegant choice. However, it has a huge bow right by her neck. I don't know why it is there, but it ruined the dress.

Gwyneth Paltrow. This was another disappointment. Gwyneth is also a generally well dressed woman. At this year's Oscars, though, Gwyneth Paltrow choose a dud. The brown, mermaid-style dress is just not very attractive. While it does bring out her hour-glass figure, the dress does nothing else for her.

Eva Green. Earth tones really seemed to be popular this year at the Oscars. This tan (for lack of a better color to describe it) colored gown was actually a good color on Eva, but the cut and style of it was just not pretty. This had an almost mermaid-style skirt, with a fairly long but structured train. I did not like this look at all.

Jennifer Hudson. She may be the "people's favorite," and a Grammy winner, Jennifer's attire that she wore on the runway was all wrong. Actually, the dress was not the issue. The odd, large collared cape was just plain weird. I don't know what she was hoping to add to her look by wearing it, but it didn't work.

Queen Latifah. This dress, while nice in concept, was just not flattering. The black, form-fitting gown was adorned with horizontal lines. We all know what horizontal lines can do to a girl. Not good.

I thought Gwyneth's dress was interesting, but not one of the worst. It reminded me of classic Hollywood and suited Gwyneth's style and seemed consistent with her past Oscar choices. As for Kirsten's feather dress, when have feather's ever worked on an Oscar gown? Maybe there was a time, but I think we are all still rooting for "no feathers" after Bjork's swan dress, possibly the worst ever Oscar dress.

OMG when I saw Nicole Kidman's dress I was telling hubby that the bow was so ugly. She's so skinny and pale I don't think the red looked good on her either. I didn't get to see the whole show I don't get that channel but I did see part of the whatever they call it on CNN.
