Knoxville is fortunate to be the home of several area golf courses.
The Donald Ross Course at the Cherokee Country Club in West Knoxville is probably one of the most famous. The club was founded in 1907. It features an 18 hole regulation length course, 70 par and 6,370 yards. The course features Bermuda grass. The golf course is available to members of the Cherokee Country Club. Ruggles Ferry Golf Course is a public golf course that is hard to top. Located in the beautiful Knoxville suburb of Strawberry Plains, this golf course has an 18 hole regulation length course, 72 par and 7, 081 yards. The grass is Bermuda. The green fees on weekends are $47 and are only $38 on weekdays. This cost does include a golf cart when available.
This course is best known to me. My husband pastured a local church in Strawberry Plains. Their annual fundraiser was held at Ruggles Ferry. The staff there was always top notch and easy to work with. Staff professionalism at Ruggles Ferry went a long way toward helping make the church's annual fundraiser a success.

River Islands Golf Club received a prestigious 4 star rating from Golf Digest. Golfers come from all over to play this golf course. It is located just outside of Knoxville.
