Seafood. Whether it is crab, lobster, shrimp, salmon, or just good old fish 'n chips, seafood can be comfort food. Many of us love it, especially when it is perfectly prepared. After my visit to "Joe's Crab Shack," I'm certain I've never had better!

The restaurant itself is an fun experience. Built like a Gulf Coast fishing shack with high, tin roof ceilings and huge patio decks overlooking a lake with a fountain, this is a great place to visit. It is cool, comfortable and entertaining; making it a popular hangout for adults and children alike. Even the little ones get in on the fun by playing in Joe's SandLot.

The very first "Joe's Crab Shack" was built on Richmond Avenue in Houston, Texas, but now Joe's can be found all over the country, from coast to coast. I obviously have not tried every Joe's in every city so I can't speak to all of them. I can however speak to the quality of the two I have visited in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and in Hampton, Virginia. I go on record as saying "Everybody outta eat at Joe's!" It's the perfect place to kick back, pound some crab, and catch up with the local gossip or just relax.

The decor inside is wonderful with walls full of bric-a-brac of every kind; nets, safety rings, lifesaving vests, sails, ropes and more hanging from the tall ceilings. It is possible to spend hours just trying to take everything in. The restaurant has large, comfortable booths for those who prefer a more intimate feel. However, there are also tables to fit just about any size party. Best of all, there is plenty of move to maneuver around without feeling claustrophobic. The bright primary colors and smiling faces of the staff complete the eatery's charm and add to an already welcoming atmosphere.

Whether you visit as an individual, a family, or a group, the delightful staff is there ready, willing, and more than able to serve your every need. With private rooms for group, parties, or banquets, Joe's is prepared for just about any occasion. They can easily accommodate up to 50 people per event.

Hey, Mary, I didn't know that. I'll have to take my grandson if they do that here. He likes to go to Texas Roadhouse because they dance there. It's one of his favorite places.

Yummo! You have taken me back to my roots. I enjoyed crab as a kid almost daily as we crabbed on a regular basis. I love cold cracked crab.

My brother took me there a few years ago and what I didn't know was at night at certain times they turn the lights down and all the waiters dance to loud music out by the tables. At least they did at the one I went to. I had no idea that was gonna happen and my brother thought it was funny as he watched my expression when they started dancing. The atmosphere as well as the food made that dining experience a great one. Great article.!
