Harrah's in St. Louis- a Great Place to Visit!
So, as a surprise for my husband, I made a reservation at Harrah's St. Louis Hotel & Casino. We have been several times before, so I got a discounted rate of $109 for the night (a Saturday night, we could have gotten a weeknight for free!). All of

United States of America the staff members were very pleasant and always smiling. The hotel itself was very clean, very nice. Not fancy, but nice. You have to use your room key in the elevator to be able to access the hotel, so I liked that security feature.
We stayed on the 4th floor and were very happy with our room.
The dinner buffet was wonderful as always, great food! and with the points on our card, we only paid $11 for both of us to eat dinner!
After that, we hit the casinos. There are 2, the Mardi Gras and the Island Casino. Island Casino is much more entertaining and has a dance revue, which I believe takes place on Thursday-Saturday nights. Very well choreographed, entertaining dancing by males and females. My husband was hoping to hit some jackpots, so we played the slots many, many times. We did worse than we usually do! Lost time after time, didn't even win the little amounts that would be just enough to keep us playing.
So, after losing most of the cash we had, we decided to call and double check how much money was in our account. Much to our surprise, the hotel had frozen $175 (we gave them our debit card at check-in but were told it would NOT be charged). Upon a call and visit to the front desk, they basically just told us that we should have been notified of the authorization that was put on our card. But nothing else was done about it. We were EXTREMELY upset that they had frozen up cash that we had intended on USING during our stay.
However, after withdrawing a small amount, just as we were down to our last dollars, my husband came over to me at the blackjack table I was at and handed me one of the fast cash tickets from the slot machine he was playin on for....$626! It was great! It was on a "Cigar" slot machine, not my favorite, but I like them now! So needless to say, we were pretty happy from then on.
