I've been trying to eat healthier, watching my calories, watching my carbohydrate intake and most recently, watching my pesticides. It used to be hard to find organic produce but in the last few years I've noticed it's
easier to find and most places offer a growing selection. I wanted to find a grocery delivery service that catered specifically to organically minded customers. Here are the top two:
Sun Organic Farm
With a simple but easy website Sun organic farm allows you to shop for USDA certified organic food that can be delivered right to your house anywhere in the United States. I found their selection to be vast ranging from baking soda to pre-packaged tomato soup. It was interesting to see the large range of organic products available. They had fresh produce, grains, coffees, and pastas. I also found they had a great selection of dried fruit, nuts and nut butter. The prices were more than reasonable and compared to prices at my local grocery store. They add a $2.50 handling fee and shipping costs are calculated by weight. Most packages are shipped UPS ground but additional shipping methods are available upon request. I ordered the "Priority sweetheart gift package" which included 1 pound each; Almonds, Honey Dates, 1 box Northwest Blackberry & Herb Tea, 1/2 pound each Chocolate Covered Almonds, Chocolate Covered Raisins, Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans, and a 1 pound jar of Orange Blossom Honey. Everything certified organic (except the honey.) When it arrived I enjoyed opening the individual packages and mixing them to create my own certified organic trail mix. I really enjoyed the rich chocolate taste of the almonds, raisins, and espresso beans. As well as the honey, this has a subtle citrus flavor. I ordered some fresh vegetables on Monday and I'm excited to receive my farm fresh produce.
