If you choose that rabbits are good for you here are the items you will need to purchase: Timothy Hay, Pellet Food, Water Bottle (Glass), Large Food Dish, Brush, Potty House, Cage And Accessories, and Chew Sticks. I'm sure there are more items you could buy but these are the basics. You will need to buy the rabbit a large amount of timothy hay because they go through a handful a day. You can buy Timothy Hay from Farm and Fleet for $6.00. This will last you at least a month. You will need to buy a glass water bottle because if it's plastic the rabbit will chew a hole in it. Once there is a hole all the water leaks and floods the cage. You will need a large food dish because rabbits eat at least 2 cups of food per day. Rabbits can be potty trained really easily. If there is any poop in the cage you can place it in the poop house. This will show the rabbit that's where the poop belongs, not on your floor.
Rabbits don't need pellet food on a regular basis. Timothy hay should be the majority of their diet because it helps to grind their teeth down and keep them short. Even the molars in the back which you cannot see continue to grow through their entire life. If the teeth are too sharp the rabbit wont eat and it will sadly pass away. In order to keep the teeth from growing you need to feed the rabbit timothy hay and give them food sticks to chew on. You can buy a variety of things for a rabbit to chew on.
