The Museum Mile Festival

The museums on Fifth Avenue are among the biggest attractions in New York City and on June 12th from 6-9 PM you can see as many of the nine museums for free as you want. There will be special kids activities and Fifth Avenue along Museum Mile will be closed to traffic. There will be free entertainment all along the way. It is a great time and one of the busiest events in the city.

Nothing says New York City more than a parade and this one is a great source for free entertainment. This year, 2007, marks the fiftieth anniversary of the parade and all the associated festivities. On June 2 there is the 152nd. Street Cultural Festival 152nd. Street (Between Jackson & Union Ave. On June 3rd, there is a special Mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral and they have other paid and free events leading up to the parade on June10th. There are events in different boroughs, so check the schedule on the site and try to attend at least one, and of course make plans to be on Fifth Avenue on the big day.
