We all know that the best way to inspire kids to learn is to make something interesting and enjoyable. This is especially true of children in pre-K up to elementary school age. Just giving them the plain, hard facts about St. Patrick's Day is not likely to get too much enthusiasm, but if you present it in a fun way, the information they learn will stick better. You'll probably get just as much pleasure out of it as they will, because even some of us grownups still have an "inner child" who likes to play every once in awhile.

If you are a teacher or home-schooling parent who needs some good St. Patrick's Day resource materials, here are some wonderful websites you can visit to find what you need:

Enchanted Learning: St. Patrick's Day
Website: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/stpatrick/

The Enchanted Learning site is always a top place to come for educational resources of all kinds. I highly recommend becoming a member for just $20 a year, since you will have access to a wealth of printable materials for use in your classroom. They're geared towards kids in pre-school, kindergarten and elementary school.

Even if you don't particularly want to become a member, Enchanted Learning offers a lot of free St.-Patrick's- Day-related crafts, with instructions for your use, including how to make a Blarney Stone, a silly potato face, a rainbow mobile that has a pot of gold and a shamrock hanging from it, a leprechaun hat, a leprechaun marionette, plus printable activity books, worksheets, puzzles and more.

BillyBear.com St. Patrick's Day Activities

This site is also geared toward young children and has some nice free resources for teachers, parents and kids, including coloring pages, printable stationery, clip art, online "Dress 'Em Up" leprechaun game, stereograms, puzzles and other St. Patrick's Day materials, which can be accessed online.
