Mother's Day remembrance when your Mom is no longer with you can be a sensitive and difficult time. Too often, people forget that there are those without their Mom on Mother's Day. Taking time to do a Mother's Day remembrance can be healing and become an annual tradition. Learn some ways to remember Moms that are no longer with us.

One traditional way to do a Mother's Day remembrance is light a candle in honor of special mom. When lighting the candle, think of the wonderful things that this special woman gave to you in your life. If you have a picture, put the picture near the candle. Lit candles are wonderful Mother's Day remembrance traditions.

Plant a special bush, shrub or tree for a Mother's Day remembrance. Mother's Day is in the spring each year. Not only will you be adding beauty to the yard, you will be honoring and remembering your mother. If possible, plant items that were favorites of your mom as part of the Mother's Day remembrance.

Many people only visit graves for the traditional holidays such as Easter, Christmas and birthdays. Have the family go with you to the burial site. Talk about the fun things that are remembered. Leave some flowers and even a Mother's Day card for this Mother's Day remembrance.

Use your hobbies as a way to honor your mother for Mother's Day remembrance. Make a special craft item in honor of your mother. Place the item in the center of the dining room table or the living room coffee table to remember and honor her on Mother's Day.

Go for a nature walk at one of the local parks in honor of your mother. Think about all the wonderful memories that you hold of your mother. Annual walks are a fresh and healing way to do a Mother's Day remembrance. Along the way, pick some wildflowers that you can bring home to put in a vase.

Thank you for the ideas. My cousin remembers her mother (my aunt) every year on Mother's Day and she said each year it gets a little easier with the things she does to remember her mother. This will be the 6th year without her and this year she has decided to finish the scrapbook she started last year.
