If proof was need that there is life from other planets, the new Jeremy Scott fashion collection is it. Because only someone from another planet would finance the monstrosities seen on the catwalks of Paris today.

If you are a woman, man, or transgender other in search of clothing that stands out in a club crowd of half-lit faces, Jeremy Scott in your man. Nothing says "I want to be somebody" like ludicrous clothing shown to a Paris industry crowd.

Jeremy Scott cheerfully embraces the objectification of woman. His clothes are almost always composed in a lessening style that derides or mocks the female form. The clothes are almost never flattering. But the Jeremy Scott show in Paris this week left even fans aghast.

The beehive hair and the jukebox outfits show that. But Scott goes so far beyond that. His signature prints, with stylized culture Americana fast food or iconic black Hockneyesque markings is updated.

New York fashion watchers consider the Scott show a nice occasion to enjoy a over the top after party. But nobody kids themselves about the clothes. They're ridiculous.

Because if Paris venues have nothing more right now to get angry with Americans about, outrageously stupid and unbuyable clothes will really perform diplomatic magic. As if American Fashion Design schools weren't full of talented people who would kill for the opportunity to show real clothes.

If you want to get inside the personality of Jeremy Scott, look no farther than his interview in 1984 with "Butt" magazine. Jeremy flatters himself that his showbiz career writing, acting may still happen. Jeremy Scott is the kind of person who considers himself an auteur and uses "wanna" a lot in sentences. I "wanna" this, and I "wanna" that.

Jeremy Scott said in an interview once "I don't think fashion is the best business to make money." Well, one way to make money might be to make clothes some people would pay to own. A Jeremy Scott show always has the air of someone having lost a bet to get the clothes up on the runway.

I have yet to read such a completely baseless article about fashion before. I agree with chinacat, that you obviously were to busy enjoying the sound of your voice. Mr. Scott's view point is- "Too many people are making clothes that look realistic and plausible on the runway, that are never going to happen. Why? They were never meant for production in the first place. So much of it is just a piece of boring something to promote an image, to sell underwear, handbags and perfume.I make fashion to provoke, to make you smile, whatever." said Mr. Scott, who is ranked No. 31 on The Face magazine's list of the most influential people in fashion. "It can't just be about consuming goods." And to that I say BRAVO!

this is about the most content-free article I've ever come across here. instead of hyper-links to things that have nothing at all to do with the article, you could just as easily have developped ones that pointed you to more looks from this designer, and contrasted them with those of other 'art' designers like Jean-Paul Gautier. but you didn't bother, because you were too busy enjoying the sound of your own voice, transcribed to text.
