A documentary called, "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" is set to air on Sunday, March 4th on the Discovery Channel. According to the documentary, the tombs of Jesus, Mary, Mary Magdalene, and the "Son of Jesus" have been found. Here is what the Discovery Channel has to say about the program:
"All leading epigraphers agree about the inscriptions. All archaeologists confirm the nature of the find. It comes down to a matter of statistics. A statistical study commissioned by the broadcasters (Discovery Channel/Vision Canada/C4 UK) concludes that the probability factor is 600 to 1 in favor of this tomb being the tomb of Jesus of Nazareth and his family."
The claims of the Discovery Channel are far-fetched and utterly ludicrous. The producers obviously have no regard for statistical accuracy when they state that "All archaeologists confirm the nature of the find." when it is evident that if a Christian archaeologist were to examine the evidence, he would not come to the same conclusion. Are Christians unqualified to be reliable archaeologists because of their Christian faith? Hardly! The Discovery Channel has made a determined effort to negate the claims of Christianity, the Bible, and Christ Himself. Their motivation? An abhorrence for Christianity.
Why is the Discovery Channel so concerned with discrediting the major faith that has so dramatically impacted humanity for the past 2,000 years? Why do they feel they must erode Christianity's fundamental doctrines in the name of science? I wonder why they haven't done a documentary on the errors in the Qur'an or the gluttonous death of Buddha? It seems that Christianity, the faith that teaches faith in Christ will bring an eternal home in heaven and that Christians should love and care for each other, is dangerous. The instigator is obvious: If you believe that the Bible is inspired and authoritative, you will reject the false sciences of humanism and evolution. This, indeed, is dangerous for a company whose chief goal is to "educate" the masses about Godless evolutionary theory.
The Discovery Channel's, The Lost Tomb of Jesus
The producers of "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" feel their archaeologists are more informed than those who were eye-witnesses of Christ's resurrection.

Though the Discovery Channel feels free to attack the core beliefs of Christianity, they would not consider doing so to other major world religions.
