Summer after all means no hours of homework, no long days at school and no annoying teachers pushing you to finish this or do that . They want to play ball, go to the mall, stay overnight at a friends house, stay up late to watch television and they want to do all of those things at once.
Sometimes parents add to the flurry of activity as summer begins by creating their own schedule of things they want their child to accomplish during the summer. What about a sports camp or a music camp or both? How about taking that extra math course at the middle school? And what about signing up for the special reading program at the library?
