Ah Spring! The ever elusive beginning of all life for the best time of the year, SUMMER! Traverse City, Michigan offers many, many attractions during this time of the year. One of the very best is the Traverse City Beach Bums. The Beach Bums are Traverse City's very own professional baseball team. They are affiliated with the Frontier League. They are owned by a wonderful family that call themselves Wuerfel. That, of course, would explain the magnificant ball park's name wherein the Beach Bums play, Wuerfel Park. This Wuerfel Park is where your wonderful experience will begin. Upon setting eyes on this behemoth one can scarcely believe their eyes. Such a park is usually reserved for a bigger town and a bigger team. This is where the Wuerfel passion comes into play. Nothing but the best for their boys. This park is immaculate. From the suberbly manicured grounds, to the major league feel of the seating, to the gift shop, to the wonderful employees, you will wonder at it all!
Personally, my favorite aspect of this park is their dessert only addition to the standard snack and food kiosks. No, worries, they have some of the best ball park food and drink in all of baseball here at some of the most family friendly prices ever! But, as I believe that the only reason for a meal is to get to dessert, you can understand why I would stand and shed a single happy tear upon seeing a large "Desserts" sign hanging over one particular section of their food machine.
