I880 - Nextel's Stylish Phone

Nextel doesn't really keep up with the standards when it comes to the typical cell phone features, they create phones that rely more on what they do extras they have in them. The i880 is a hybrid of Nextel's typical phone with some of the extra goodies of a fancy cell phone thrown together. Still considered large for s cell phone it is stylish in a Nextel sort of way. This phone offers a 2-megapixel camera and music player with external controls. Nextel doesn't typically put a camera in their phones and have never put one of such quality until now. The i880 is a solid phone and a much needed change in the Nextel line; you can snag one of these for $299 with service.

Sticking to its roots the Motorola i880 isn't considered small or compact. Measuring 3.5 X 1.9 X 1.1 inches and 4.8 ounces, it's a mammoth, but it makes up for size in features. Nextel customers have come to expect larger cell phones, and even though there's no standard Nextel rubber siding, but it is like all other Nextel's solid and tough. I like that the phone is a little larger, phones are getting so small you lose them easily, the i880's size is welcome. The only problem with the exterior is the antenna; it's fragile and susceptible to breaking, so if you aren't using it leave it down.

I love that the i880 has a huge 1.25 inch external display with 65,536 colors. You are limited to only changing the wallpaper of the external display, but the display does show the time, signal strength, battery life, and photo caller ID! Other external features include the camera elements including the lens, flash, and self-portrait mirror, and the external music controls are located just below the display. The i880 allows you to control the music player while the phone is closed which comes in handy; you can view the track information on the external display. Speakers are located below the buttons and the Motorola logo that flashes when the phone rings.
