"Everything I do is blown out of proportion. It really hurts my feelings," the socialite complained. The hotel heiress was pulled over by Los Angeles police late Tuesday night for speeding down Sunset Blvd without headlights on. Paris was driving with a suspended license.
Last month Paris was sentenced to three years probation a drunk driving incident last September, on the condition that she would obey all laws.
About this week's arrest, her publicist Elliot Mintz said that Paris had didn't notice that her headlights weren't on because the parking area she was in was brightly lit. Mintz is contending that he and his client were unaware of the license being suspended.
By violating her probation, Hilton could get a $1,000 fine and up to 90 days in jail, if worst comes to worst.
In September Paris explained that she had been to a charity event and had drunk only one margarita. "I had one margarita, starving 'cause I had not ate all day, on my way to In-n-Out which is probably three blocks away, and I'm in my (Mercedes) SLR, which is a little fast, so maybe I was speeding a little bit" - she giggled - "and I got pulled over," she said adding that the police "were so nice."
But not so nice this time. The police seized Paris Hilton's $US190,000 blue Bentley after her arrest. Authorities can hold the 12-cylinder, 550-horsepower car for up to 30 days. Paris had bought the Bentley for herself at Christmas.
"Paris the Heiress" is first-born in the latest generation of the Hilton hotel chain family. She is also known for being a high-society party girl, part-time model, and quasi-actress.
Paris Hilton was born on February 17th, 1981, to Rick and Kathy Hilton. She is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton hotels and source of the estimated at $300 million family fortune. Her grandfather, Conrad "Nicky" Hilton, Jr., was the first of Elizabeth Taylor's many ex-husbands. Paris' younger sister, Nicky (born in 1983), shares the throne as co-heiress of the Hilton empire.
