This is a fun Mother's Day gift idea that kids can craft. It is a Mother's Day gift that Mom can keep and treasure for a very long time. With a little supervision, this Mother's Day gift can be made with children ages 6 and up. It is an activity that can be done at home or in the classroom. The wonderful feature of a spaghetti bird's nest is that the theme is Spring and they are very adorable. It would be difficult for any Mom to resist liking this wonderful Mother's Day gift.

The approximate cost per Mother's Day gift is around $5.00 each. It should take approximately one hour to complete this Mother's Day gift project.

Items for Each Mother's Day Spaghetti Bird's Nest

· 1 ½ Cups of uncooked dry spaghetti

· 1 small butter or margarine tub with lid

· 1 Popsicle or craft stick for mixing

· Brown tempera or poster paint

· Regular white glue

· Assortment of craft feathers or bird feathers

· Light blue or sky blue tissue paper

· Aluminum foil

How to Make Mother's Day Gift Spaghetti Bird's Nest

1. To form the nest part of the Mother's Day gift, break enough spaghetti into different size pieces for approximately one cupful. Make sure that the pieces are small enough to fit into the small butter or margarine tub.

2. Pour a small amount of glue into the bottom of the small butter or margarine tub. Usually around ¼ cup of glue works best.

3. Add a tablespoon of brown tempera or poster paint to the glue in the small butter or margarine tub.

4. Turn the glue completely brown by stirring the paint and glue together.

5. Add the broken spaghetti pieces to the brown glue.

6. Mix the spaghetti pieces and the brown glue together. If the mixture for the Mother's Day gift seems to dry, add a bit more glue. If the mixture for the Mother's Day gift seems a bit to wet, increase the amount of spaghetti pieces.

7. Firmly press the mixture together around the sides and bottom of the small butter or margarine tub to form the shape of the Mother's Day nest.

8. Allow the glue to dry completely before removing the Mother's Day nest from the small butter or margarine tub.
