Merry Christmas one and all. Wait, you mean it’s not Christmas! Since when? It has always been Christmas. Suddenly, though, we aren’t allowed to say “Christmas”. Just where do they think our holidays started from anyway? Hello! It was Christmas!

Christmas is being removed everywhere.  Town Christmas celebrations are now being called 'Holiday Celebrations".  The words to Christmas songs are being changed to cut out any mention of the word Christmas or any references to Christmas.  The poor Christmas tree is now a "Holiday" tree.  We are now involved in holiday gift giving rather than the giving of Christmas gifts.  Excuse me!  The first "Holiday gifts" given were to Jesus Christ to celebrate his birth- that's where we get Christmas.  If it weren't for Christmas there would be no season of giving.

Our schools aren’t allowed to teach about Christmas or even mention the word, yet they can teach about Kwanza, and Hanukkah. They are allowed to teach about different religions around the world – but for some reason it isn’t politically correct to teach about the Christian religion- where Christmas comes from. Why not? We are a world where we are expected to teach and respect racial diversity, life-style diversity, and even religious diversity (otherwise known as tolerance). Why is it then that when it comes to Christianity we aren’t supposed to mention it or anything to do with it, much less show respect for the people –like me- who are Christians? When will they start teaching Christian tolerance? Is tolerance even the correct word? It would imply something distasteful to be put up with. Foul language is tolerated, bad jokes are tolerated (just listen to Comedy Central sometime and you’ll see what I mean), horrible fashion habits are tolerated. Someone can dress and show off body parts that should have them arrested, or their undergarments and we tolerate it. Children talk back to their parents and it seems it is tolerated.

There is no other God but the one true living God who gave His son Jesus to die for our sins. We as Christians are honored to celebrate the birth of Jesus and no one should ever try to stop that in any way.

Go ahead and say Merry Christmas (first ammendment) This article is certainly all over the board. Possibly the author has several issues, among them feeling a little sorry for self. What is the author doing about IT? What have they done to make change? To create tolerance, acceptance? Looks like little. So what anyway? This country WAS set up by some white guys. White guys coming to a plce where they could cellelbrate their beliefs freely, without laws and restrictions. Then the white guys started making laws contrary to even their own religious beliefs...slavery, child labor, "blue laws", stealing Native American's land, murder in the name of (Fill the blank)...and the list goes on. When we Americans can celebrate the diversity we welcomed to this land (And forced (slaves)) and until we can respect (not tolerante) the differnces we all have, orientation, gender, age, ability, celebrating Christmas is a small pebble in our shoe. Do not cry foul when your religion has been

This article is incorrect in all aspects, but two issues are particular works of fiction. First, you keep defining Holiday as the celebration of christmas. If you want to get technical, the first holidays would be the religious celebrations in ancient Ur, and those were decidedly not christian. And more important for the current discussion, Hanukkah was in existance some THREE THOUSAND YEARS before christmas. Secondly, the founding fathers were NOT all christians (Washington, Jefferson, Madison), and even those who were believed strongly that religion should never dominate a government of free people. And finally, I would like to know what Christmas songs are being changed. I love Christmas music and have not heard one Christmas song that has been changed this season.

Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson (just to name a few) were deists at most (believed in a 'being' not a Christian God). I work at a school and we teach CHRISTMAS, Hannukah and Kwanza. Not everyone in the US are Christian, so why should we have Christmas parties if not everyone attending celebrates Christmas? As, December is host to Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas AND New Year's, there is nothing wrong with wishing people Happy Holidays. Some of them DON'T CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS. And that is OKAY. Retailers are selling goods for all of these holidays, so why should they only talk about Christmas As a Christian, I find fault with everything you have said in this article. I don't believe we should get rid of God, but I believe everyone has their own choice when it comes to religion and what they chose to celebrate. Jesus Christ stood for tolerance and love, not bigotry and hate.
