Not everyone is fortunate enough to be trained efficiently before beginning their jobs. In fact, I have come across some great trainers and some lousy trainers. The intention herein is not to offend someone. I always presumed that trainers lacked the skills when they were bad at training. It is only when I had to train someone; I knew some of the nuances of the entire process and my complete impressions changed forever. There are many other disturbing factors that might influence the routine of a trainer and he might not always be able to do full justice. Under such circumstances, you need to identify that you are under negligent training and try to find ways to steer the situation in your favor. A discussion with the trainer might also not yield any positive results. You need to train yourselves. Indeed, most companies favor candidates who can learn things all by themselves. While this may not always be possible, there are some ways in which you can train yourself.

1.Grasp the situation. Try to discuss and only then complain only if majority feels the same. Identify the situation at the right time and seek the opinions of other trainees. If all the trainees are under the same impression, try discussing it with your trainer. You might favor discussing it one-to-one or as a group. It depends on factors such as the attitude of the trainer, your rapport with the trainer, and the attitude of all the other trainees. Hence, it is necessary for you to initially find if you are being trained correctly. Even though it appears as you are being trained in the best possible way, it may sometimes be just a waste of time. Therefore, you need to check what you have learnt constantly once the training program begins.

Takeaways
  • Grasp the situation. Discuss before you complain
  • Little amount of ground work is necessary
  • Seek the help of experts
