Challenging hikes spread across Oregon ranging in many different forms of difficulty and features. If you want a hike that will get you a little winded and put some aches in those bones I might have the place for you. You might want to try the Strawberry Lakes Loop located in the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. The hike is much more difficult than the name suggests as anyone will find out. The hike will take you about 2-3 days depending on how much time you want to just relax. It is a total of 13.7 miles round trip and you will reach elevations of 4200 feet high. This is a strenuous hike only for those with much experience. A great time to plan a trip to Strawberry Loop is July to October. The best time overall would probably be late July. This section of the Strawberry Mountain wilderness contains several small lakes that are hidden in the rugged cliffs and peaks. On your hike you can visit pretty much all of these lakes when going through a loop that also takes you over a huge waterfall. You will travel across high meadows, lofty ridges, all containing marvelous views.
