Mohamed al Fayed has won at long last a court decision to allow a formal inquest into the tragic death of his son Dodi Fayed. Dodi Fayed lost his life along with the Princess Diana in a car crash August 1997. The car accident was the result of the vehicle Princess Diana rode in with her boyfriend Dodi, her bodyguard, and the car's driver attempting to out run paparazzi that were in heavy pursuit of the couple who were spending time in Paris.

The car they rode in slammed into a concrete divide in the Parisian tunnel causing the instant deaths of both Dodi and driver. Fayed has fought more ten years to have this inquest granted into the deaths of both Princess Diana and his son Dodi. The London Metropolitan Police conducted a three-year investigation, which saw very little in the way of results, but did mange to spend an exuberant amount of public funding.

The French authorities also conducted their own investigation into the tragic deaths The inquest has been delayed by set backs and the legal battles that Al Fayed faced in court up to this point. Fayed is a step closer to his dream of an inquest into the death of his beloved one with the decision to three senior judges at London's High Court to overturn the deputy royal coroner 's decision to sit alone without a jury.

The judges decision ultimately determined that there would be a jury to avoid the appearance of impropriety in pursuit of what caused the deaths of the couple in the 1997 car crash in Paris. Al Fayed has said of the courts latest decision that it is as a step forward. He also stressed his determination to continue fighting if for any reason there were to be found a suppression of evident where the jury was concerned.

He is adamant that the jury is presented with the evidence no matter the enormity of documentation to be viewed as evidence surrounding the deaths. "This is not the end of the road, but an important step. The jury must now be allowed to hear the entirety of the evidence, but I fear there will be attempts to keep it from them. If so, that will be yet another battle I will have to fight," he informed the media just outside the courthouse.
