Richard Gere and Diane Lane to Play Romantic Couple Again

Diane Lane And Richard Gere are together again for a new romantic film. This will be the second time the Hollywood stars will co-star together. Their first pairing resulted in the adulterous tale Unfaithful (2002). Unfaithful also co-starred Olivier Martinez who's portrayal of the handsome stranger that tempted Diane Lane to sufficient distraction sent pulses racing amongst moviegoers everywhere.

The romantic drama is entitled Nights in Rodanthe for Warner Bros. Pictures release. The film shoot will see the Hollywood pairing touch down in North Carolina where the film is scheduled to commence in May 2007. Locations for the Carolina film shoot have been confirmed to take place in and around the beach town of Wilmington.

Wilmington is North Carolina's leading film location and is perceived to be leading the way in the state's efforts to be one of world's top film production locations. Dennis Hopper was said to have liked working in Wilmington so much that he bought the old Masonic Building downtown and planed to turn it into an actor's school. Linda Lavin moved to Wilmington after purchasing three properties and has since started acting workshops. In1997, she even founded The Linda Lavin Foundation in Wilmington, which focuses on helping teenage girls.

The arrival of Gere and Lane will be one of many highlights for the Carolina beach town that is no stranger to Hollywood's finest. The romantic story is based on a novel about two desperately unhappy people who become less unhappy in each other's company. Lane's character happens to be questioning her dead end marriage and is uncertain whether or not to get out of it all together.

Gere portrays a doctor who travels to reconcile with his estranged son. He finds himself in the romantic way with Lane's character after checking into an inn in a North Carolina. Lane's character already being half of a fairly unhappy marriage falls into the strong arms of Gere. This is a reverse premise to the storyline that brought the two Hollywood heavy weight actors together in the Unfaithful.
