This fun mirror is easy to make, and perfect for any princess' room ... young or old!

For this craft, you will need:

- A large wood framed mirror (mirror must be removable from the frame)

- Yes® Glue, or any adhesive glue that will dry clear

- A large paintbrush

- A small paintbrush

- Cardstock

- Watermark ink

- Gold embossing powder

- Heat embossing tool

- Letter stamps in fancy script

- Embossing cream

- Masking tape

- Acrylic paint, black in color

Start by removing the glass from the frame. Set aside, as it will be used later in the project. Paint the wood with the black acrylic paint. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Cut the cardstock into three inch squares. Using the paintbrush, coat an entire square in watermark ink. Quickly apply a thick coat of embossing powder, and shake off the excess. Set the powder using the embossing tool. Before the square has completely dried, press the letter stamp onto the paper causing an indentation of the letter. Repeat the process, letter by letter, until the following phrase has been completed:

Mirror On The Wall, Who Is The Fairest Of Them All?

Cut out each letter individually, and adhere directly to the frame using the Yes Glue. (TIP: 'Mirror Mirror On The Wall' should be affixed to the top of the frame, and 'Who Is The Fairest Of Them All' to the bottom of the frame.)

Return your attention back to the mirror glass itself. Using a sheet of plain cardstock and stencils, trace the following out in large letters:

You Are

Cut out the letters individually. The cardstock should now have the words cut from it, and look much like a stencil itself. In the right hand corner of the glass, just above where the frame will cover, lay the cardstock stencil against the glass. Tape the outside edges firmly to the glass with masking tape so it does not move.

Apply the etching cream directly onto the cutouts within the stencil cardstock on the frame. Allow the etching cream to dry, and remove the cardstock. The words should appear etched into the glass. Rinse with water, and re-tape the cardstock stencil over the words on the glass for a second coat. Remove the cardstock, rinse, and dry well with paper towels.

Takeaways
  • Use extreme care when working with the etching cream. Do not get it anywhere you do not want etched!
  • When using stamps on embossed cardstock, work quickly before the ink has dried.
