PX90 and the Freshman Fifteen - is This a Solution?

College Student Use Aggressive Training

My son is a college student and struggles with his weight management as he progresses into his second year of college. Like many college students, he now lives alone and must find ways in which to eat healthy without support from his parents. Compounded by stress, my son's eating habits have worsened over the past two years and he is looking for ways in which to lose that infamous freshman fifteen.

Recently, college students have begun to take notice of a new fitness program that is designed to not only assist in losing the freshman fifteen but to also promote a more "cut" appearance - known as the PX90 or officially known as the P90X training program. Some college students even refer to it as the "Beach Body" program.

As a parent, I am alittle concerned about the degree to which this fitness program results in sudden weight loss. However, after looking at my son's new physique, I can clearly see that the P90X program may be just want many college freshman need to not only maintain a healthy weight but to also manage stress through a controlled exercise program. When I began to look into the program further, I found it is an intense 12-session work out program that is designed to be done in a college student's dorm in or in the convenience of home. To me, it appears to be a highly intensive circuit training program - one very similar to the circuit training I was part of when I attended college.

My son reports that many college students are using P90X fitness training routines even as a form of entertainment. Gathering for study groups, the students use the P90X fitness program to boost their endorphins during the most boring periods of their study time. In fact, some of the college students who reportedly use attention and focus-enhancing drugs to promote their success in college are now turning to this more natural fitness approach.
