Alas, I am not an Associated Content superstar, but I do aspire to become one. And I have a pretty good idea of what it takes to achieve superstardom on Associated Content. Here are some tips on how to become an Associated Content superstar.

1. Be prolific. Of course, some Content Producers have more free time on their hands than others. But even with a limited amount of spare time, a good way to be prolific is to set aside a certain number of hours each week to write your Associated Content articles and work on developing a following. Do not stray from writing during those designated hours. And if you find yourself able to devote additional time to Associated Content, use that opportunity. Being prolific will help boost your Page Views by keeping you in the spotlight, and you will be well on your way to becoming an Associated Content superstar.

2. Be opinionated. Some of the content that receives the most Page Views and Comments on Associated Content are those pieces in which the author raises a controversial subject and offers his or her own opinion. In order to accomplish this, you need not choose a very serious topic such as abortion or the death penalty. In fact, simple, light-hearted articles can often become hotbeds of controversy. Take my article, "The Most Irritating New Trends in Baby Names" for example. Over 90 comments, some of which were rather nasty, all because I struck a nerve. But the heated debate was ultimately beneficial to me and fun. The fact that opinions can lead to superstardom was also evident in the 2006 People's Media Awards.

3. Be friendly. There are many fine people writing for Associated Content. No need to feel shy. Drop in at the Forums and strike up a conversation. Leave Comments below content that you find to be well-written, fascinating and fun. Many of the friendlier people on Associated Content that I have met in the forums or who have left Comments on my articles have also earned me as a Constant Reader. I visit their CP Pages frequently, or sign up as a subscriber. Being friendly is a good way to become an Associated Content superstar.

Thanks for the great information! I think that you are a superstar here though. You were one of the first writers that I read here and you always keep them coming.....

You're not a superstar already? Wow, you should be, considering how much you write. You're my hero. Hehe. Thanks for the advice. I seriously need it. I am going to print them out and take them to heart. Bye

Good advice. It also means staying focused. I know a lot of information on various topics, but I can see how trying to advise on too many subjects at once could work against you.

Thanks, Jack - I got some good reminders, and some new ideas (controversy is something I am squeamish about, and I can see from your article it has an up side)!

Jack, you forgot to mention the need to write about celebrity gossip frequently. The points were a good idea nonetheless... and well written.

Zane: People keep talking about getting feedback on their writing through Associated Content. Do you mean from Content Managers or other writers? I would love some feedback, but have received little and read little in the comments, besides the occasional: "Nice article" or "Good job."

I like that your final point is about using AC to improve your writing. This is a great place to get almost immediate feedbake on your writing. As long as people are reading it.

Short and Sweet! Also, very good advice to follow-up and live by here on AC...
