2009 NFL Mock Draft Final Update

Final Update of My 2009 NFL Mock Draft- First Round

4
This is the first round of my 2009 NFL mock draft and is my final version barring a huge trade. Thanks for reading this final updated 2009 Mock Draft and please feel free to leave comments telling me how smart I am. You can check my profile for the older versions of my 2009 mocks. At the end of this article I will provide some links to some great NFL mock draft websites.

1 Detroit Lions- Matthew Stafford- QB Georgia

I had Andre Smith going here but his antics at the 2009 NFL draft combine have dropped him. Stafford will sit the pine and learn the game while Culpepper gets hammered behind this weak offensive line.

2 St. Louis Rams- Jason Smith -OT Baylor

I am tempted to put Sanchez here in my 2009 mock draft, but I think the Rams will go Offensive Line. Jason Smith is possibly the best tackle in the draft and the Rams need to replace Orlando Pace/

3 Kansas City Chiefs- Aaron Curry LB- Wake Forrest

As a Chiefs fan I really wanted to see the team go for an offensive tackle but Curry is just too good to pass up. With Mike Vrabel and Zach Thomas on the roster Curry can learn from two veterans.

4 Seattle Seahawks- Mark Sanchez QB- USC

The Seahawks addressed their wide receiver issue in free agency and have appeared to really start to like Sanchez of late. Mark Sanchez is good at making reads and plays with more knowledge of the game at this point than Matthew Stafford.

5 Cleveland Browns- Michael Crabtree WR-Texas Tech

The best wide receiver in the draft goes to a team that needs one badly. Expect Braylon Edwards to be traded on or before draft day. Crabtree has the potential to be a very special player even in Cleveland!

6- Cincinnati Bengals- Brian Orakpo DE/LB Texas

The Bengals need help in lots of places but Brian Orakpo makes the most sense at this point in my 2009 NFL mock draft.

7 Oakland Raiders- Jerry Maclin WR-Missouri

With failed wide receiver attempts with Moss and Walker of late the Raiders really needs a good wideout. Maclin should fit the bill and give the offense a little more talent.

] 8 Jacksonville Jaguars- Eugene Monroe OT Virginia
