If you've looked through a bodybuilding catalog, you've seen the pages of bodybuilding accessories and gear that seems essential when you’re shopping. Is it important to buy all of the bodybuilding accessories if you want to be a successful bodybuilder? There are some items that can be seen as essential: dipping belt, hand grippers, a towel, and a bottle of water. But there are some accessories that, even though they are not vital to your workout, will improve your workouts. Consider using the five following bodybuilding accessories to help you achieve an even better performance. 1. Lifting straps.
These strong thick straps are placed around your wrists and the wrapped around the barbell or dumbbell. They form a connection between your wrist and the weight. Used properly, you can perform your exercises without expending energy from your forearms. Lifting straps are great because they make sure you reach muscle failure in the muscle groups you are targeting instead of your forearms and grip.
The only negative to lifting straps is that if you use them constantly you will not have the opportunity to increase your grip strength.
2. Ab straps.
A set of ab straps consist of two separate straps that hang from a bar. Just place your arms through the straps and hang from them. While hanging, you bring your legs towards your chests. This works the abdominals. If your gym does not a good abdominal station or if your back hurts during leg raises and crunches, ab straps are a great piece of equipment.
3. Lifting belts
Back injuries can put you out of commission for a long time. To prevent injuries, many bodybuilders use lifting belts. They provide lower back support and prevent dandgerous jerks when lifting heavy weights. They are especially great for squatting, though they can be used for other exercises as well. Just remember that lifting belts are not a substitute for good form.
